Bandbox is psyched to present our exclusive pressing of The Black Crowes’ rousing seventh studio album, 'Warpaint,' on eye-catching red + white splatter vinyl. Following 2001’s 'Lions,' Crowes fans had to wait seven long years between albums, but when 'Warpaint' finally arrived in 2008 it proved to be well worth their patience. The Atlanta-based Southern rock legends retooled their lineup for this record, focusing their collective creative energies into a batch of soulful, energetic jams that perfectly captured the electrifying live spirit of the group – so much so that the Crowes eventually released 'Warpaint Live,' documenting a smoking performance of the entire album at LA’s historic Wiltern only two weeks after the record was officially released. Brothers Chris and Rich Robinson are still the imaginative heart of the Crowes on 'Warpaint,' but they were given a musical jolt by new members Luther Dickinson of North Mississippi Allstars on guitar and Adam MacDougall on keys, with both of their crucial contributions adding a bluesy layer to the band’s warm, potent sound throughout the album's 11 intoxicating tracks. In addition to our stunning colored vinyl edition of 'Warpaint,' this Bandbox exclusive also comes with a 16-page zine focused on the long, celebrated musical history of The Black Crowes and a dive into their renowned Southern rock anthems, as well as stylish photographs of the group and more.
