I Love Lucy is a comedy TV series that ran from 1951–1957 and follows the life of Lucy Ricardo (Lucille Ball), a middle-class housewife in New York City who dreams of becoming a star in show business. Lucy's schemes to appear in her bandleader husband Ricky's (Desi Arnaz) nightclub often involve her best friends and landlords, Ethel (Vivian Vance) and Fred (William Frawley), and usually end in disaster. The show is known for its physical comedy, such as Lucy's failed battle with a conveyor belt in a candy factory.
