Battlestar Galactica is a TV series that ran from 2004–2009 and is set in a distant star system where humans live on 12 planets called the Twelve Colonies of Kobol. The series follows the crew of the aging Galactica as they protect a small civilian fleet of human survivors after the Cylons, an android race created by humans, launch a surprise attack on the Colonies. The Cylons use advanced models that can look human to quickly dominate humanity, forcing the survivors to flee through space in a ragtag fleet. The crew's journey takes them toward Earth, the fabled 13th colony.
