Earth has been laid to waste by a virus, mutating all adult humans into flesh-eating zombies. The infection lies dormant in all surviving children bringing about the change near the age of 18. Todd, on the brink of the change, struggles to protect the innocence of Benny, his mute younger brother, as they hunt for a sanctuary. But when they encounter Matra, a psychotic teenage cult queen, and her clan of feral hunters, Todd must fight to secure a future for Benny while there's still good in the world.
