After serving 12 years for a crime he didn't commit, Det Charlie Crews (Damian Lewis) returns to his job at the LAPD but gets a cool reception from his new partner, Det Dani Reese (Sarah Shahi), and their tough boss. Constance (Brooke Langton) is the attorney who finally managed to get Charlie sprung from prison after DNA evidence exonerated him of the murders of which he was accused. Charlie's former cellmate, Ted Earley (Adam Arkin), formerly the CEO of a powerful company, is now Charlie's housemate and financial adviser. Charlie's post-prison police work incorporates some quirks he acquired while serving time - a Zen philosophy and a fixation with fresh fruit.
