Navy pilots Andy (Cary Grant), McCann (Ray Walston) and Mississip (Larry Blyden) fly into San Francisco on a four-day leave. They land a free room at a posh hotel, and Andy immediately begins trying to lure women back to the room. Public relations officer Wallace (Werner Klemperer) wants the boys to do some promotional work for disreputable shipping mogul Eddie Turnbill (Leif Erickson), but Andy is much more interested in making a play for Turnbill's fiancée (Suzy Parker).
